To make this EP I used software by Rodrigo Constanzo called C-C-Combine. This software stores a bank of samples of my voice, recorded over many years on my iphone. When I sing into the software, it automatically tries to match my live voice to these stored recordings, resulting in a jumble of sounds and syllables that sometimes sound a bit weirdly linguistic. This was the inspiration for the title, which I take to mean “self-language” or “speaking to / through oneself”. I then orchestrated the results using MIDI instruments and stuff I had to hand, like a stylophone.
