about

Title is a objet trouvé, just as the artwork, and basically most of the sonic material of this EP. I am obsessed for a while with moving objects having radios tuned to static frequencies. Even if the “empty” frequency has its own sound it reacts on the changes of the environment as it approaches high voltage wires, tramps or buildings. I decided to choose this topic as a starting point for the Weekend EP. I asked Vazul Endre Mándli, an amazing harmonica player and the musical project manager of the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, to help me with his happy-bus. We drove three times around the institute at 7 pm starting our trip at the parking loft. We tuned the car-stereo each time to different AM frequencies. I used these three recorded sound-files as the basis of the project. I made recordings between 7:30 and 10 pm partly with Vazul and two other friends, Matzaa and Simon Wahorn playing electric guitar and electric bass. The temporal and timbral aspect of one of the first three files used as references for all newer recordings. I experienced this referential structure of relationships analog to a composer´s referential relationship to environment, society, identity…etc. Fekete is a Hungarian word, it means black, in some argo it also means coffee. Play any tiem, any where!
